1. Rhodes Island
The largest of the Dodecanese islands is also one of the most beautiful. Everything in it is magical, from its mythological origin to its port, where some time ago one of the seven wonders of antiquity was, the Colossus of Rhodes. It is worth getting lost in the narrow cobblestone streets of the walled enclosure, visiting the Jewish quarter and the Turkish quarter, as well as the Palace of the Grand Masters.
2. Mykonos Island
Cosmopolitan, cheerful, lively, but also quiet, that’s Mykonos. The island known as Greek Ibiza is an island to have fun, to enjoy its great festivals, and much more. Strolling through its narrow streets with white houses and indigo doors, admiring the windmills, taking a swim in less crowded beaches such as Lia or Agios Beach or visiting Paraportiani, its oldest church, are some of the fun activities to participate in.
3. Antipaxos Island
Antipaxos is the place where you go, mainly, to enjoy its spectacular beaches whose waters turn into different shades of blue. Relaxation is the recurrent theme of what is the wildest island in Greece. Agrapidia, the only village on the island, is home to only 60 people in winter. That’s why once the afternoon falls and the tourist boats leave only silence remains.
4. Corfu Island
Located in the Ionian Sea is Corfu, the most cultural island of Greece. Among its indispensable: stroll through the historic center of the homonymous capital, declared a World Heritage Site. Stop at Spianada, the largest square in Greece. Visit its two fortresses, preserved in excellent condition, the Palace of Achilleion and the Monastery of Vlachérna. Among its most visited beaches are the bay of Paleokastritsa and the canals of Sidari.
5. Paxos Island
The island that according to legend, was created by Poseidon to house his lover, is filled with olive groves and Venetian style homes with colored facades. In its barely ten kilometers there are three charming villages, Gaïos, Loggos, and Lakka. There are beaches and coves of difficult access but of great beauty. On the east coast are its cliffs, 100 meters high, which catches the most attention.
